Grading Expectations

​

Every student will deserve an “A” in band if they simply show up prepared to every class and event ready to work. We simply cannot succeed as an ensemble without each student reaching his or her greatest potential as a musician. This potential comes through planning ahead with materials and assignments, and carrying a great team-building attitude at all times. Grades will be determined from the following:

40%            Citizen Grade based on coming to class prepared: music, folder and pencil. It is expected that each student in this program show an effort.

25%            Test and/or Performance Grade: All performances are equal to a test grade. It is expected that the students attend every performance because if one is missing it may affect the entire group’s performance.

25%            Quiz Grade: Quizzes will be given every Friday that class meets. These could be a playing quiz, written quiz, or a music quiz.

10%            Homework: There will be one homework assignment a week. Students will be asked to complete an assignment through E

An iPad will also be available in the band room before school, during lunch and after school on Wednesday.
