GET INVOLVED!!

 

Parents play a vital role in the development of their child’s musical ability. There are several ways parents can assist and facilitate this development. They are listed below.

• Show an interest – ask questions about what your child has learned. Please encourage their progress with positive remarks.

• Ask to hear your child play. If no progress is being made, ask about it.

• If you have time, learn along with them. Let your child teach you to reinforce what they have learned.

• Set aside a time each day for home practice. As with any other class, band has homework, too! Remind them of the need to practice their instrument.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

• Band Parent Meetings are usually every other month. Please look out for emails every Friday with information.

• The first one will be September 25, 2018

• Volunteer for parent committees. WE ALWAYS NEED HELP!!

• Be supportive. Attend performances; please do not just send your child to events. We understand that you may not be able to attend all performances, please make an effort to attend. It is important to them that you are there.

• We need parents for the following: uniforms, hospitality, chaperone, transportation, publicity and the list goes on and on and on…..
